College Rep Visits

Have a 10th or 11th grader who needs to explore colleges or a 12th grader applying to college? Have them sign up to meet with the many college reps that are coming to HHS. They will get to meet the people who will actually be reading their college applications and get to know the campuses better. To sign up, have your scholar use MaiaLearning (under the events tab).

HBCU College Fair at Minnehaha Academy September 24th, 5-8pm.

Maya Sullivan organizes this event, which is in its third year. If you have scholars interested in attending an HBCU, we strongly encourage them to sign up via the Google Form linked below. Below is important information related to after-school transportation and building access. Only scholars participating in after-school activities will be allowed to use the below transportation and access the middle school and high school buildings once the school day ends.

Daily Shuttles: “After-School Shuttle” This bus runs Monday-Friday on school days only. This bus will be located at the front of the bus line at WMS.

ROUTE: West MS (end of school day) > Hopkins HS/North MS > West MS

To ride this bus, athletes will be required to show their fall sport athlete bag tag (HS sports) OR lion head sticker (MS sports) on their student ID.

Activities Buses: Buses that return student-athletes home after practices. These buses do not go door-to-door. They are HUB stops and scholars may need to walk a few blocks. These buses run Monday-Thursday on school days only.

ROUTE: West MS (5:30pm) > Hopkins HS/North MS Bus Loop (5:45pm) > Hub Stops

To ride this bus, athletes will be required to show their fall sport athlete bag tag (HS sports) OR lion head sticker (MS sports) on their student ID.

Team Charters: These are buses that bring teams to/from athletic events. Coaches make arrangements for these, in coordination with the Activities Dept. They return athletes to HHS, where parents can pick them up. Coaches communicate these details.

***For returning families, given the middle school time change, we are NOT running an “Early Shuttle” from WMS to the HS. WMS athletes participating on HS programs will ride over on the Daily Shuttle following their school day on practice and home game days. For away game days, the Team Charter will stop by WMS to pick up team members.

High school fall sport bag tags can be picked up from your head coach.

Middle school fall sport bus stickers can be picked up from your middle school activities secretary. (NMS - Debbie Herman & WMS - Amber Hampton) 

ATHLETES MUST BE PREPARED TO START SHOWING THIS PROOF THE WEEK OF SEPT. 9.

IMPORTANT: Both the high school fall sports bag tag and middle school sports sticker can serve as a bus pass. However, only the athletes with the high school fall sport bag tag can get into the high school building. Therefore, athletes who do not possess these items will not be allowed on the buses, nor into the high school building. Only scholars participating in after-school activities will be allowed in the middle school and high school buildings following the end of the school day.

We are excited to kick off the 2024 football season! We wanted to be sure to communicate with everyone our game day expectations for all attendees. We did an amazing job last year of creating a positive game day experience and environment for the entire community and our players.

Game Day Expectations:

• HHS scholars must show their current HHS student ID or their Infinite Campus profile to enter the stadium.

• Scholars from high schools that are not competing in the football game will not be admitted.

• Scholars from the visiting team must sit in the visitor’s section.

• No outside food, animals, water bottles, bags or athletic balls of any kind.

• No readmittance after leaving the stadium.

• HHS scholars must enter at the Student Pass gate.

• Middle School scholars in grades 6-8 must be accompanied by a parent/caregiver.

• Patrons may wait in line for the bathroom or concessions but otherwise are expected to be in the bleachers watching the game. Those who are loitering will be asked to leave without a refund.

• We will be selling tickets through the third quarter. No admission into the stadium after ticketing is done.

 

SPECTATOR INFORMATION

PARKING (SPECTATORS): General parking will be available in the Royals Athletic Center parking lot (located on the west side of the high school property), the high school parking lot, and North Middle School parking lot (both located on the south side of the property).

TICKETS: Online tickets are available at bit.ly/hopkinstix 

Sales window is currently open! A CASH option will be available onsite. All tickets are “GENERAL ADMISSION” - $7.00 Adults & $5.00 Students/Seniors. The ticket booth is located on the south end of the stadium. Ticket booth will open at 6:00 PM. Hopkins students are allowed free entry with student ID or proof via Infinite Campus.

 

Tickets will be sold through the 3rd quarter.

NO ENTRY once we close ticket sales and the Student Pass Gate.

There is NO RE-ENTRY
Spectators that leave the stadium will not be allowed to re-enter.

SEATING: The home team guests will sit in the grandstand located on the west side of the stadium (side with the pressbox). The visiting team guests will sit in the grandstand located on the east side of the stadium. Spectators should be in their seats if they are not at the concession stand or restroom. At no time, unless given permission by event staff following the game, should any spectator go down to the track/playing field level. Only approved media personnel will be allowed on the track/playing field level. Lastly, there is no standing along the front railing of the bleachers.

No Tobacco/Smoking/Vaping

No Alcohol

Event staff reserve the right to refuse entry or remove spectators who fail to comply with above.

Current, Past or Next Year’s AP African American Studies Scholars

We are taking an incredible trip over spring break in 2026! We are doing a civil rights/HBCU tour to Georgia, Alabama, and Louisiana. We will be visiting famous sites like the Edmund Pettus bridge and the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, and we’ll tour the Whitney Plantation and Lafayette Cemetery. We will tour Spelman and Morehouse Colleges and more! I will host some information nights beginning in November, so stay tuned. 11th/12th AP European History or AP World History students (classes of 2025 & 2026)

We are taking an amazing trip over spring break in 2025 to Croatia, Slovenia, and Venice! You can watch a brief video overview by clicking on this link (here is the presentation). Current Juniors who are taking AP Euro or AP World during the 24-25 school year and current Seniors who took AP Euro or AP World for the 23-24 school year as a Junior are eligible to register. (This is not available for incoming 9th graders at this time.) We currently have 25 students signed up and the trip is capped at 40.
